TARLAC STATE UNIVERSITY LAUDS TEACHERS

/ 7 October 2020

THE TARLAC  State University marked World Teachers’ Day by holding a program to honor teachers for their hard work and dedication in delivering learning amid the pandemic.

The program was held through Zoom and was live streamed via the Office of Public Affairs’ Facebook page on October 2, with the theme, “Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future”.

The university lauded the teachers for managing online classes amid the pandemic.

The school particularly praised the teachers for preparing modules, studying new online platforms, and reaching out to students who are struggling with poor internet connection and lack of devices.

“No amount of pandemic will ever stop a teacher to inspire students and see the bright future that awaits them. It is not easy to become a teacher, but I believe that it is not also difficult to be one as long as we teach with our hearts and not from the book,” TSU President Dr. Myrna Mallari said.

“As long as we look at our students as blessings of opportunity to serve, being a teacher is not difficult,” she added.

During the program, Prof. Socrates Embesan from the College of Teacher Education sang “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical play of Les Miserable, and the TSU Chorale performed “True Colors”.

Meanwhile, student organizations, interim student council officers, and some alumni expressed their gratitude to their professors and instructors in several video presentations.
