TARLAC STATE U OPENS VACCINATION SITE
TO BOOST the inoculation efforts of the local government, the Tarlac State University has allowed the use of its main campus gymnasium as a vaccination site.
TSU President Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari said that Tarlac City Mayor Maria Cristina Angeles requested the use of the gymnasium to speed up the inoculation process.
“At agaran pong pumayag ang TSU dahil gusto po naming makatulong upang ang mga kababayan natin ay mabakunahan na. In fact, ine-encourage po namin silang magpabakuna,” Mallari said.
The university also provided manpower for the vaccination program in the province.
TSU Physician Dr. Rommel Hernandez said nurses from the school’s Medical Services Unit assisted the provincial government.
“Iyong sa provincial, matagal na silang nagre-render ng service doon sa SM vaccination hub. Pero now na dito kasi ‘yung venue, hinati natin ‘yung nursing services. Meron pa ring nagke-cater doon, pero binawasan natin to two. ‘Yung karamihan sa kanila andito ngayon sa TSU Gym,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez noted that the university is fully committed to further help the city’s vaccination program.
“This is part of our commitment, hindi lang sa TSU kung ‘di pati sa ating city. Ang ine-expect nating magiging output nito is a better promotion of health lalo na doon sa prevention of Covid19 especially since single dose lang ito (Janssen),” he said.
