STI AND DEPED TO TRAIN TEACHERS

/ 11 October 2020

THE DEPARTMENT of Education and the STI Education Services Group, Inc. inked a memorandum of agreement to train teachers in transitioning efficiently and smoothly to blended learning.

“This collaboration allows us to capacitate both learners and teachers of DepEd by providing the necessary resources, tools, and technology which is also part of fulfilling our duty to make education more accessible particularly in these trying times,” STI-ESG Vice President for Academics Aisa Hipolito said.

Hipolito said STI will make its learning management system known as ‘NEO Learning’ available to public school teachers.

“A reliable and robust learning management system is a major factor for a conducive and effective learning. The concept of online learning is not new to STI as the institution already implemented a blended learning mode for the past five years,” Hipolito said.

The school is also committed to assist DepEd in the digitization of learning materials by allowing the department to access its computer laboratories nationwide.

DepEd has already started the production of its learning contents to be broadcast in television or radio using STI’s audio-visual facilities.

Meanwhile, STI reiterated that it is open for further partnership, including training of teachers for online education where they can earn credits for Master’s or Doctoral degree.

“Should the teachers opt to continue their studies and secure a Masteral or Doctoral degree, STI shall recognize the credits earned during training and assist teachers in its online graduate school program through STI West Negros University in Bacolod,” it said.
