THE SORSOGON State University – Center for Language and Culture and the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino conducted a workshop that promotes the use of the Filipino language in government communications.

The Regional Seminar-Workshop on Official Correspondence 2023 was held from March 20 to 21.

Dr. Sheilee B. Vega, chief of KWF’s Branch of Literature and Cultural Studies, led the event.

The workshop gathered officials from each barangay of Bacon West District and Bacon East District. Principals and staff of Department of Education-Province of Sorsogon and DepEd City of Sorsogon also participated in the said seminar.

The workshop aimed to orient barangay officials and local government units on Executive Order No. 335 and implement it by using the Filipino language in official transactions, communication, and correspondence in their respective offices.

The workshop also tackled importance of using the Filipino Language (whether spoken or written) for the effective provision of public services.
