SILLIMAN U ALUMNI SET UP SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR JHS LEARNERS
SILLIMAN University High School Class of 1960 signed a partnership agreement with the university to set up a scholarship fund for Junior High School students.
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the class of 1960 representatives and the university’s President for Development, Enterprise and External Affairs Jane Annette Belarmino.
“Through the SUHS CLASS OF 1960 Scholarship Fund, the alumni batch aims to support and maintain a scholarship grant for underprivileged but academically deserving students,” SU said in a statement.
“The scholarship will cover full or partial tuition, board and lodging and textbooks expenses depending on the available funds,” it added.
The SU Scholarship Committee and the Scholarship and Student Aid Division will manage and implement the scholarship in accordance with the guidelines of the university and the MOA.
To qualify for the scholarship program, a student must be a Filipino citizen, officially enrolled at SU Junior High School, considered financially underprivileged whose gross annual family income does not exceed P350,000 or if the applicant, after evaluation by the SSAD Selection Committee, cannot support his or her education even with a gross family income of more than P350,0000.
Recipients of other scholarships or subsidies offered by the university may apply for the scholarship.
Students interested in the scholarship may contact the SSAD at (035) 422 6002 local 328 or may send an email [email protected].
