THE SIARGAO Island Institute of Technology has released P32 million to its scholars for the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

The amount is for 1,079 students.

SIIT President Francisco T. Matugas personally handed the cash aid to the students.

The school said that the cash assistance will be of great help to the students who are reeling from the effects of the pandemic and the onslaught of Typhoon Odette last year.

The amount was given under the Commission on Higher Education’s Tertiary Education Subsidy program from the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Law.

Beneficiaries of the TES are entitled to up to P80,000 in financial assistance per year.
