SAMAR STATE U RECEIVES INTERNATIONALIZATION AWARD
THE SAMAR State University was one of the first recipients of the Philippine Higher Education Internationalization Award for its program entitled “Preparing the Foundation of an International University.”
The award, organized by the University of the Philippines Open University and the Commission on Higher Education, aims to recognize institutions that are innovative, creative, inclusive, and with sustainable internationalization initiatives.
“This is a milestone not only for the University but for the Province of Samar. That amid its socio-economic status and geographically challenged location, there looms a University that dreams of becoming one of the top 200 universities in Asia by 2040. This is a dream for every Samarnon,” SSU President Dr. Marilyn Cardoso said.
She thanked CHED and UPOU for providing inspiration, opportunities, and provisions to the university in its quest for internationalization.
Cardoso also lauded the diligence and dedication of SSU’s Office of the International Affairs and other members of the academic community.
