THE PHILIPPINE Civil Service Commission declared a group from Samar State University as regional winner in this year’s Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

SSU BUKAS Team received the CSC Pagasa Award for the group category for their community-based farm engagement imitative. The group qualified for the national search for outstanding workers.

The team was evaluated for its Noteworthiness of Outstanding Performance, Sustainability of Contribution, Impact of Performance/Achievement, Reliability and Effectiveness, Consistency of Performance, and Demonstrated Teamwork, Cooperation, Camaraderie and Cohesiveness.

“The entry by the team proved worthy of the award as it emphasized the importance of community-based farm engagement in promoting the utilization of crops such as sweetpotato and highlighted the numerous benefits it can bring to the community including increased food security, improved economic opportunities, and sustainable farming methods,” SSU said.

The award is conferred to a group of five members for their “outstanding contributions resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefit more than one department of the government.”
