PUP STUDENTS DECRY SCHOOL’S ‘INACTION’ ON GRAD SUSPENSION DUE TO ‘PAENG’
POLYTECHNIC University of the Philippines students decried the late announcement of the graduation rites suspension scheduled to be held on Saturday.
The reaction came after the school announced the suspension of classes Friday night, or at around the time the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration placed Metro Manila under Signal No.1 due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
PAGASA raised Metro Manila’s Storm Signal to Number 3 on Saturday morning.
The students contended they should have been notified earlier as some of them had already invested for the graduation.
“WALA KAYONG RESPETO SA GASTOS AT ORAS NAMIN HAHAHA. Ilang beses namin kayong kinulit kaninang umaga kung tuloy ba, may pa-‘rain or shine, tuloy’ pa kayong nalalaman. Nakakaiyak kayo PUP,” one graduate from the College of Social Science and Development wrote on PUP’s announcement on Facebook.
“Grabe kayo. You had all the time this morning and last night to make an announcement. Sobrang inconsiderate to think that a lot of us are not from Metro Manila. To announce as early as possible was the least thing you could do. ANG SAHOL,” another one added.
PUP has yet to announce the rescheduled date for CSSD’s graduation and recognition rites.
