PUP STUDENT REGENT RESIGNS
THE STUDENT Regent of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines has resigned from her post for health reasons.
A letter sent to student councils which were posted by the SocioChronicles on Facebook said that Ellenor Joyce G. Bartolome admitted that her work has taken a heavy toll on her well-being.
“As early as July 1, 2020, I have exhibited and consulted to the people close to me my intention to back down from my post due to personal reasons and mental instability. Wherein this intent has pushed me further when I encountered a traumatic experience as a student leader last September 30, 2020, in PUP, that has taken a heavy toll on me even as of today,” Bartolome wrote.
“However, I would not further disclose the details of the aforementioned experience and I would like to stress that despite those internal struggles and personal challenges that confront me, I continued serving and pushed myself further to embrace my responsibilities as the Student Regent,” she added.
Bartolome said that she decided to quit after consulting with a mental health professional.
Bartolome also resigned as president of the PUP College of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council.
