PUP STUDENT COUNCILS APPEAL FOR EXTENSION ON SUBMISSION OF MODULES

/ 26 January 2021

THE STUDENT Council Assembly of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines appealed for an extension of the deadline for the submission of modules.

The assembly, a coalition of student councils, asked university President Manuel Muhi to allow a one month extension. The deadline was set on February 12, 2021.

The group said that resetting the deadline to March 5, 2021 would give ample time to students who received their instructional materials late or who have yet to receive their parcels.

The university’s College of Communication dean has confirmed with The POST that the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs has plans to extend the deadline but has yet to issue an advisory.

It also proposed an alternative grading system for students under correspondence mode and appealed for the implementation of the ‘no-fail policy’.

“Declare a ‘no-fail policy’ for all the students of the university as the current experience of academic learning in our Sintang Paaralan is both a challenge and a burden that needs an immediate intervention as the unanticipated problems (i.e., delayed delivery of instructional materials, inconsiderate academic instructor guidelines) are now being experienced first hand,” it added.
