PUP ALLOWS SIT-INS ON VIDEO LESSONS

/ 6 October 2020

STUDENTS of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines who are under the modular mode of learning will be allowed to sit-in on video conferencing sessions.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs said that before joining webinars, students must first submit their course requirements. They can sit in only if they will attend the sessions at home and not in computer shops.

The new guideline was issued after students complained that they should not be limited to just one mode of learning. The university earlier announced that students cannot switch from one learning mode to another during the school year.

This policy was greatly criticized by students who said that they should not be chained to just one method of learning. They said a mixture of modular and online learning would better help them understand their lessons.

Meanwhile, the university said that soft copies of the instructional materials will be sent by the professor to an online storage platform accessible to all students.

Classes in PUP started on Monday October 5, 2020.
