PLM WILL NOT ACCEPT APPEALS FOR ADMISSION

/ 9 June 2022

THE PAMANTASAN ng Lungsod ng Maynila on Wednesday said that it will no longer accept appeals for admission for Academic Year 2022-2023.

The university made the remark after receiving a lot of requests from applicants to reconsider their application for admission.

“As much as the PLM wanted to accommodate everyone, we are constrained from doing so due to resource constraints that include the limited availability of faculty. We are hoping for everyone’s understanding,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.

The school said that the initial 2,000 qualified applicants were categorized into four – Manila resident, public school graduate, private school graduate and non-Manila resident.

The top passers for this year’s college admission were dominated by graduates from the Manila Science High School.

“Category 1 qualifiers’ general weighted average ranges from 92 to 98, for Category 2 qualifiers its 96-100, Category 3 qualifiers are 97-99 and Category 4 qualifiers GWA ranges from 98-100,” the university explained.

The PLM has sent acceptance letters to 2,661 applicants, including 406 waitlisted applicants as of June 1.

Qualifiers were given until June 7 to choose and confirm their desired programs, while waitlisted applicants may confirm their slots until June 15.

From the initial 2,000 applicants, PLM opened more blocks to accommodate 1,000 more applicants. Notices are being sent to applicants to advise them on the status of their applications, the university said.
