STUDENTS of the Philippine Science High School System won in two international competitions.

Svetlana Viktoria Roxas of PSHS Bicol Region campus placed first in the 2023 Hippo International English Language Olympiad Regional Qualifiers held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this month.

Roxas will represent the country in the finals round in Rome, Italy on September 28 to 30, 2023.

She was mentored by John Richard Moreno, who served as her coach.

Meanwhile, students from PSHS Western Visayas campus bagged 10 awards in the 2023 Hongkong International Science Olympiad.

Kirk Arlan Zean and Neal David Paches each won a gold medal.

On the other hand, Leimar Magno, Mary Medemielle Cabarles, Joana Nicole Balopenos, Maria Samantha Cristobal, and Matthew Defensor bagged the silver medal.

Amirah Coleen and Marien Yzabelle Obre won the bronze medal, while Aerith Patambang received the Merit Award.

HIKSO is an International Science Competition held annually. It consists of 4 main categories: Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Integrated Science.
