PANGASINAN STATE U LIGHTS UP HOUSES OF POOR STUDENTS
TWO STUDENTS of the Laboratory High School will not study in darkness anymore after the Pangasinan State University donated solar light bulbs to help them in their studies.
PSU said the students have no electricity thus the solar bulbs will help them greatly.
“Since solar light bulbs acquire energy from the sun, there is no need for their family to apply for installation of wires from electrical cooperatives. Moreover, sunlight is free of charge, therefore bills will no longer pass their doorstep for a well-lit home,” PSU said.
The light bulbs were gifts from Instructor Eddelaine Cabarlo who won the devices on a photography contest abroad.
“The light bulbs were originally prizes won by Ms. Eddelaine Cabarlo, an instructor in PSU Infanta who recently won a photography contest overseas. She then decided to donate these bulbs because she believes that there are students in their area whose houses are not yet powered by electricity,” it added.
The PSU administration lauded the teacher for her initiative and said that PSUnians are more than just academicians.
