PANGASINAN STATE U JOINS NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MONTH KICK-OFF

/ 12 December 2022

THE PANGASINAN State University joined the kick-off program for National Volunteer Month organized by the Pangasinan provincial government and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency to highlight the importance of volunteering.

The ceremony at the Capitol grounds was attended by representatives from government agencies, local government units, state universities and colleges and other volunteer agencies.

Pangasinan Gov. Ramon Guico III said that acts of voluntarism ignite hope and help pave the way to progress.

“With volunteerism, we create solutions. One person cannot do [all things] alone. We need other people to contribute to nation-building. We need the fresh ideas from people [in different fields of specialization]. Together we can create solutions despite of the pandemic and other challenges we are experiencing,” Guico said.

The Pangasinan State University, led by its president, Dr. Dexter Buted, demonstrated a shared commitment to the province’s education policy.

“The way I understand the good Governor ay gusto niyang pasiglahin ang ating mga kabataan. Magkaroon ng collaboration ang unibersidad at ang kapitolyo. Ang unang proyekto na na-discuss namin ay ang mga out-of-school youth. Ang ating mga out-of school youth ay kailangan nating tulungan hindi lang sa scholarship kundi sa financial assistance,” Buted said.
