AN ALUMNA of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology was named the Best Presenter in the 11th International Conference on Chemical and Biological Sciences 2024.
Rose Chinly Mae Ortega-Kindica, a Biology graduate, was recognized for her paper “Predicting Taxonomic and Functional Profiles of the Microbiome Communities Associated with Hippocampus barbourin” in the session topic Nanotoxicology and Biology.
The paper was co-written by Chinee Padasas-Adalla, Dr. Sharon Rose Tabugo, Dr. Joey Genevieve Martinez, Dr. Olive Amparado, Dr. Carlo Stephen Moneva, and Dr. Jose Luis Balcazar.
ICCBS serves as a significant platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to come together, exchange ideas, and collaborate on Chemical and Biological Sciences from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
The conference was organized by The Network Joint Research Center for Materials and Devices: Dynamic Alliance for Open Innovation Bridging Human, Environment and Materials.
It was held at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan earlier this month.
Ortega-Kindica’s participation was funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program.
