MPSPC DECLARES CAMPUSES PEACE ZONES

/ 12 April 2023

THE MOUNTAIN Province State Polytechnic College has declared all of its campuses zones of peace.

In a statement on Facebook, MPSPC President Edgar G. Cue said that this signifies its commitment to peace amid the tribal war taking place in the province.

“In light of new developments on the peace situation in certain areas of Sadanga and Tinglayan, we strongly reiterate that the [MPSPC] including all its CAMPUSES is a ZONE of PEACE,” Cue said.

The Kalinga Provincial Police Office earlier said that the war between the tribesmen from Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga and Betwagan, Sadanga in Mountain Province has resumed.

The feud resulted in the death of one farmer and the wounding of another since March.

“As an educational institution, we adhere to and respect the principle of nonviolence in the settlement of disputes and conflicts. We, therefore, encourage all concerned stakeholders to be advocates toward ensuring a peaceful community,” Cue said.
