/ 13 August 2020

US-BASED  education and technology firm, Cengage, lauded Mapua University in transforming into a digital-based educational system.

In a letter sent to Mapua University President Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, Cengage commended the successful digital transition of the university.

“Your foresight and determination to pursue digital learning form the early days, allowed Cengage to work successfully with your faculty to provide enriching and engaging learning experiences to your students through our digital solutions,” said Cengage.

According to Cengage, there were 1,943 online courses created for Mapua which covered 73 subjects with 45,894 students enrolled last 2019.

“These numbers are the highest for a single university in comparison to our records of universities in Philippines and Asia. This means that Mapua University is among the most digital-ready universities in Asia,” Cengage added.

Cencage also acknowledged the university’s commitment to improve and provide quality education through online learning as the country shifts to online classes amid Covid19.

With this, Cencage is looking forward to a future partnership with the university.

Aside from Cengage, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) also recognized Mapua University as one of the leading universities in online learning.

Mapua University has reportedly suspended the blended learning approach and plans to go fully online this school year.
