MANILA Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso commended students and alumni of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila who served as medical frontliners and helped the city in addressing the health crisis.

“Mahigit isang taon na nating pinipilit gapiin ang Covid19 — hindi lang sa Maynila, hindi lang sa bansa, kundi sa sangkatauhan at sa buong mundo. Harinawa ay matapos na ang pandemya,” the mayor said during the school’s 53rd Commencement Exercises.

“Sa kabila ng pandemyang ito, mahalaga na ipadama natin sa ating mga mamamayan ang pag-aaruga ng pamahalaan,” he added.

The city government provided smart tablets to public school students, including several PLM enrollees who did not have gadgets to use for online learning.

The city also extended a P1,000 monthly allowance for students residing in Manila.

Moreno also committed to build a new building for the Ospital ng Maynila, while the existing facility will eventually be used by the PLM College of Medicine.
