ON Wednesday (31 Jan 2024), the Guimaras State University and several other government agencies launched the Guimaras Startup Innovation Hub (iHub) to help with the province’s progress.

According to GSU, the iHub is a collaborative project between the university, the province, Iloilo Science and Technology, the Department of Science and Technology VI, and UMWAD Western Visayas.

GSU said that the initiative aims to help entrepreneurs with idea brainstorming and support in terms of systems and technology.

“This hub aims to support and enhance the growth of startup entrepreneurs in the region, focusing on Information Systems and Technology, Science and Technology, and Entrepreneurship,” GSU said on Facebook.

The hub also aims to help local businesses thrive within the province to help with the province’s overall growth.

“This collective effort encourages a culture of innovation, propelling Guimaras towards sustainable growth and prosperity. Together, we can build a thriving ecosystem that nurtures startups, fosters creativity, and ensures the enduring success of businesses in our beloved province,” it added.

The iHub is located at the GSU Salvador Campus.
