DORSU STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR SUMMER PROGRAM IN JAPAN

TEN students of the Davao Oriental State University qualified for the J-MCP Summer 2024 Program at Kansai University in Japan.

The Japan-Multilateral COIL-VE Project is an online program jointly implemented by multiple universities in Japan and overseas. It offers two courses—Skills for Society 5.0 and Entrepreneurship for Social Business.

During this intensive online course, students will collaborate on team projects with peers from around the world, exploring entrepreneurship, sustainability, and other engaging topics through dynamic synchronous and asynchronous activities.

Khandice Angel Cabanto, Carl Angelo de Galicia, Mark Jay Cristino, Lexcy Lex Bargamento, and Leonel Kim Angana are enrolled for Skills for Society 5.0 course.

The course aims to Identify problem-solving strategies independently, use digital tools for task planning and prioritization, apply critical thinking and varied perspectives to solve complex problems, use task-based and problem-based learning in team settings, and showcase knowledge and creative skills through collaborative digital projects.

Meanwhile, Cherryish Estañol, Angel Mae Reporial, Anna Leah Tejones, Angela Watts, and Arch Joseph Quiamco are enrolled in the Entrepreneurship for Social Business course.

The course aims to increase knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals and their interconnected challenges, explore technology-driven solutions for sustainability, develop strategies for implementing sustainability in business, and reflect on learning through peer dialogue.
