DORSU GETS P13-M FUNDING FOR SMART CAMPUS PROJECT
THE DAVAO Oriental State University secured a P13 million funding from the Commission on Higher Education for its Smart Campus Project.
The financial assistance will make the school the first smart university in Davao Oriental.
DOrSU said on Facebook that its “ICT Solutions for Transformative Education: A Sustainable Smart Campus Initiative” was approved by CHED.
It said that the funding will help improve the ICT infrastructures of the university and its Learning Management System.
Under the project, a fiber optic internet connection will be installed for all DOrSU campuses.
“As we continue to brave and start preparing for the unprecedented changes post Covid19, we need to realize that there is no other way to welcome the future but to become a smart university,” DOrSU President Roy Ponce said.
“DOrSU is beyond grateful to the leadership and generous provision of Dr. J. Prospero E. de Vera III, CHED Chairperson, and Dr. Aldrin A. Darilag, CHED Commissioner and DOrSU Board of Regents (BOR) Presiding Chair, especially in helping the university cope with the challenges in this trying time,” he added.
