DLSU PROF AMONG WORLD’S TOP ENGINEERS
A PROFESSOR from the De La Salle University made it to the list of top Engineers and Technology Scientists in the world, a ranking from website Research.com revealed.
Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Professor Raymond Tan ranked 928 with a score of 56 in h-index, 9,240 citations and 325 publications.
Tan was the only scientist from the Philippines included in the ranking.
The rating contains h-index, publications and citations values collected last December 2021. It was also based on meticulous examination of more than 10,875 scientists on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph.
“Because the main goal is to ensure that only genuine researchers are included in the ranking whilst without doubt, we believe that numbers are never meant to be an obsolete measure to quantify the precious contributions of scientists,” Research.com explained.
“This is why we manually verify each profile and cross-correlate it against publications in a wide range of credible sources. Even though it’s not a metric defining a scientist’s position in the ranking, the amount of documents published in major journals and conference proceedings should constitute a reliable secondary indication of their contribution to research in a given discipline,” it added.
Since 2014, Research.com has been one of the major websites for Engineering and Technology research offering credible data on scientific contributions.
