DE LA SALLE-ARANETA TO FIND OTHER SCHOLARSHIP SOURCES
THE DE LA SALLE-Araneta University is seeking other sources of funding and sponsorships for its scholars after it announced the suspension of granting scholarships for Academic Year 2021-2022.
Student Financial Assistance and Scholarship Office head Glenah May Rose Tolentino said that the university had to “decrease the number of students supported by University” because of the decline in enrollment.
“For as long as we have funding, the rest of the scholarships may continue,” Tolentino said.
She said they are tapping the University Student Council and Tertiary Education Senior High School Parents Association and government subsidies such as TES-UniFAST of the Commission on Higher Education.
The DLSAU earlier said that it will not give scholarship grants for Academic Year 2021-2022 for financial reasons. This will affect 70 student scholars of the school.
In a letter sent by the Student Financial Assistance and Scholarship Office, it informed scholars that “the University is not spared from the effects of the lingering pandemic” and it experiences financial “difficulties in providing for pre-pandemic budgets[,] such as scholarships.”
