THE CONSOLACION Community College is now known as the Cebu Technological University following the lapsing into law of a bill renaming the school.

House Bill 8040 lapsed into law on May 27, 2022 and is now Republic Act 11800 or “An Act Integrating the Consolacion Community College in the Municipality of Consolacion, Province of Cebu, into the Cebu Technological University to be known as the CTU-Consolacion Campus.”

House Bill 8040 was authored by Rep. Emmarie Ouano-Dizon.

In a social media post, Ouano-Dizon congratulated the previous Sangguniang Bayan Council of Consolacion, former Consolacion Mayor Joannes ‘Joyjoy’  Alegado, current Consolacion Mayor Nene Alegado, and all parties that worked with her office to make this progress for Cebu’s Sixth District possible.

The CTU board of regents will have the authority to choose the makeup, size, and organization of the faculty and staff at the CTU-Consolacion Campus in accordance with RA 11800.

Additionally, CTU will receive ownership of and title to all government-owned land parcels currently used by Consolacion Community College.
