CLSU EXPOSES STUDENTS TO MANUAL FARMING
IN a bid to impart knowledge about farming to the youth, the Central Luzon State University held a planting activity for its students to further enhance their learning about the practice.
Dubbed as ‘Taniman 2024’, students from Grades 7 to 12 planted a 3.7-hectare rice field to help them get ample exposure and deeper understanding of the field, headed by the CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning – Agricultural Science and Technology School.
“This initiative offers a unique opportunity for young students to enrich their insights in relation to the intricacies of rice cultivation,” CLSU said on Facebook.
“The planting experience is just one facet of the hands-on agricultural education provided by the CLTL-ASTS as its commitment to provide holistic development, strengthening values such as hard work, teamwork, and passion for agriculture to mold a generation that is academically proficient and equipped with essential life skills,” it added.
CLSU is located in the province of Nueva Ecija, known as the Rice Granary of the Philippines, being the leading producer of rice in the county.
Meanwhile, the university also partnered with ASKI Multi-Purpose Cooperative for ecological solid waste management last Wednesday.
