TWELVE higher education institutions in the Cordillera Administrative Region were given the go signal to conduct limited face-to-face classes for their medical and allied health programs, the Commission on Higher Education said on Thursday.

These HEIs were the Benguet State University, Baguio Central University, Cordillera Career Development College, Easter College, Ifugao State University, and Kalinga State University.

The CHED also allowed Pines City Colleges, Saint Louis University, Benguet Vocational School, University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras and Mountain Province State Polytechnic College to hold physical classes.

All 12 HEIs were given a Certificate of Authority for complying with the guidelines and health protocols to resume physical classes.

“The gradual reopening of the campuses of HEIs for limited face-to-face classes selected health-related degree programs for they are regarded vital in providing additional manpower support in the health system during the pandemic,” CHED-CAR said.

“The Composite Team of CHED-CAR, DOH-CAR, and LGU/Local IATF will continue to monitor the implementation of limited face-to-face classes,” it added.
