A TEACHER-RESEARCHER of Cebu Technological University main campus made a presentation during the Futures Conference 2023: EMPOWERING FUTURES – Long-term Governance, Democracy, and Futures Research held in Turku, Finland last month.

Dr. Cristie Ann Jaca, an associate professor from the College of Education, designed the “3A Instructional Model as A Futures Thinking Teaching Approach”.

“Her presentation featured the innovative 3A Instructional Model, which Features Thinking Teaching Approach that promises to redefine education for the future,” CTU said.

“She developed an extremely streamlined and simplified instructional design model that can capably unleash the benefits of constructivist learning in any instructional modality – in-person, fully remote, or hybrid – and kept the teaching-learning engagement high for teachers and learners,” it added.

After the conference, CTU said Jaca also visited two globally recognized universities in Finland to gain valuable insights into their best practices and explore potential benchmarks for implementation.

“These visits allowed Dr. Jaca to delve deep into the methodologies and approaches employed by these world-renowned universities. Intending to adapt these practices to suit the unique needs of her institution, she aspired to enhance the quality of education and create a more dynamic academic environment for students,” the school said.

“Beyond adopting best practices, Dr. Jaca’s journey also focused on fostering connections, networks, and partnerships. She actively sought out opportunities for collaborations in academic and research endeavours, envisioning mutually beneficial outcomes for both institutions involved,” it added.
