BULSU CONDUCTS UPLAND REFORESTATION
THE BULACAN State University mounted reforestation projects to help reduce the deterioration of mangrove areas in the municipality of Malolos, Bulacan.
BulSU said that its Institute of Environmental Governance teamed up with its Extension Services Office and College of Science to focus in the area of Barangay Pamarawan and San Mateo, Norzagaray.
A total of 800 trees like Guyabano, Narra, Firewood, and Rhizophora were planted.
The activity gathered several faculty members, personnel and administrators on March 17 to 18, 2023.
“The most common threats to tree growth include sea level rise and uncontrollable habitual plucking of propagules. Temperature and forest fire are two factors that inhibit tree growth on upland terrain,” BuLSU said.
A clearing operation to count thriving trees in Sitio Suha is next.
