BIPSU FACULTY OPPOSE DUTERTE’S CIRCULAR ORDER

/ 8 January 2022

MORE faculty members of the Biliran Province State University signed a petition opposing a circular issued by President Rodrigo Duterte that they claimed would block their career growth.

BiPSU said that the educators are against the retroactive implementation of the Proposed Department of Budget and Management -Commission on Higher Education Joint Circular on the reclassification of faculty positions in state universities and colleges.

The circular came with President Rodrigo Duterte’s veto message in the 2019 General Appropriations Act which made it harder for faculty members to gain enough points to get promoted.

Faculty members will also miss some points if they lack documents as required in the proposed guidelines, BiPSU Faculty Regent Vennie Coton said.

Educators from BiPSU’s main campus and other campuses gathered to sign the petition which was formally launched last December.
