THE BICOL University has approved a one-week midterm break to give the students and faculty members a “short time to reinvigorate themselves.”

The Office of the President said that the break will be from October 25 to 31.

“The second year implementation of the flexible learning modality since the Covid19 pandemic started last year remains a new thing to many, if not all, in the academic community such as Bicol University,” it said in a memorandum.

“Learning and teaching mode requires a lot of adjustments which affect the total well-being of an individual especially the mental health as well as the financial state of both the students and the faculty members,” it added.

During the break, no synchronous or asynchronous classes will be held. Members of the faculty were also disallowed from giving requirements or assignments.

Students can use the midterm break to complete their backlog in their previous lessons and activities without any pressure of having new requirements, the university said.
