ADMU PARTNERS WITH CONGRESS ON RESEARCH PROJECT
THE ATENEO de Manila University signed a partnership agreement with the House of Representatives on the holding of an evidence-based research project touching on various subjects.
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed on Tuesday by House leaders led by Speaker Martin Romualdez and ADMU President Fr. Roberto Yap, SJ.
“The research studies aim to support the current administration’s 8-point agenda and the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 towards achieving the Filipino aspirations of maginhawa, matatag, at panatag na buhay, or the Ambisyon Natin 2040,” the university said.
“The 11 research studies will focus on protecting the purchasing power of families, reducing vulnerability and mitigating the effects of the pandemic, ensuring sound macroeconomic fundamentals, and creating more quality, green jobs, government right-sizing, and peace and order,” it added.
Through the project, academic researchers will have an opportunity to actively engage and participate in policy discussions and provide inputs.
Dr. Majah-Leah Ravago of the Ateneo Department of Economics will lead the 11 research teams working closely with researchers from the Congressional Policy and Budget Research Department of the House. Each team will be headed by congressional research fellows.
