A LIBRARY PANTRY? USTP UNVEILS ONE
THE UNIVERSITY of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines unveiled ‘University Library Pantry’ on Saturday.
The project was established based on the popular community pantry sprouting all over the country, with the aim of helping students in need amid the implementation of distance learning.
The pantry is located at USTP Cagayan de Oro’s ground floor of the Learning Resource Center.
“The noble cause aims to help the students and the community during the pandemic…Instead of food, they are offering reading and school materials,” USTP said on its website.
“As a University Library Pantry, anyone is welcome to donate their old books, magazines and learning materials. This in turn will be shared to others and they are free to take it home with them,” it added.
The pantry also offers reading materials, ballpens, fasteners, paper clips, bond papers, and colored Carolinas.
The organizers behind the initiative noted the importance of feeding the mind through reading and sharing resources.
