4 UP ALUMNI HONORED
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles honored four alumni during the virtual “Explore. Empower. Excel” Alumni Awards Night.
The four awardees — Mario Ignacio, Marlon Saria, Elsa Matteo Gilham and Nenita Pambid
Domingo — received the Distinguished Achievement Alumnus, Most Distinguished Alumnus, Leadership Recognition, and Service Recognition awards, respectively.
All four awardees attributed a great part of their achievement and success to the world-class education they got from UP.
Gillham was instrumental in the formation of the Rotary Club of Historic Filipinotown.
Meanwhile, Saria said his UP education prepared him to use his voice to be a leader and serve others.
Domingo said she learned from UP the love for the country, perseverance, resilience and she imparts those lessons to her students in UP.
Ignacio, meanwhile, was the first Asian and first Filipino American to hold the top financial post of the largest municipal utility in the United States.
