2 CEU ALUMNI LEAD PAMET-USA AND PAMET-PH
TWO alumni of the Centro Escolar University are currently the presidents of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists Inc. in the US and Philippines.
Rowena Pablico leads PAMET-USA while Luella Vertucio heads PAMET-Philippines. They both graduated from CEU School of Medical Technology.
Pablico is also the laboratory manager of Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California.
She helps Filipino medical technologists and clinical laboratory scientists by offering continuing professional education and review courses to new migrant workers.
She also collaborates with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office to streamline the immigration process and other programs to uplift the laboratory professionals.
Meanwhile, Vertucio has contributed to the growth of laboratory professionals. She works as laboratory manager and chief medical technologist of Providence Hospital in Quezon City.
She first became an officer of PAMET Philippines in 2005 and since then, she has participated in numerous and noteworthy programs aimed to uplift the condition of medical technologists in the country.
She received awards such as Most Outstanding Employee of the De Los Santos Medical Center, Most Valuable Professional at the 5th Congress of the Asian Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists in South Korea, and the Japan Association of Medical Technology Professional during the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists in Florence, Italy.

Both are not only competent in the medical technology field but are imbued with sterling character and values, with hearts for others. We are proud of these alumni,” Dr. Charito Bermido, Dean of School of Medical Technology, said.
