100 BICOL U EMPLOYEES GET COVID19 JABS
AT LEAST 100 employees of the Bicol University have received their first shot of Sinovac vaccine.
The vaccination was held at the school’s College of Engineering Gymnasium on June 18.
“Only the first 100 employees in the A1 group, which comprised the BU Vaccination Team and frontline workers including deans and directors, the A2 category, which included Senior Citizens, and A3 with comorbidities, were given the vaccine on the first day,” the school said.
Spearheaded by Dr. Joseph Bartolata, vice president for Administration and Finance, the university formed the BU Covid19 Vaccination Committee that included 67 doctors, nurses, faculty, utility men, security guards, information technology and clerical staff to facilitate the inoculation.
“Members of the committee were Dr. Chito Mendoza, BU College of Medicine Dean, Dr. Rosebe Nacion- Lauraya, BUCM Associate Dean, Prof. Jocelyn E. Serrano, BU College of Science Dean, and Dr. Ma. Bernardita A. Palacio, BU College of Nursing Dean,” the school added.
It said that the vaccination drive will continue but other employees will have to wait for their schedule.
