GROUP HOLDS TRAINING FOR CAMPUS JOURNALISTS
A youth group in Caloocan City holds a seminar workshop and training for high school and college student journalists in the city.
The Caloocan Young Leaders Initiative, community-based organization, launched the “Kalookan Para sa Kampus Midya” project on two Saturdays, March 20 and 27, via a virtual seminar-workshop in which around 200 student journalists attended.
The initiative aims to provide participants with essential skills and knowledge to navigate the new digital information ecosystem and address the different challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the two-part seminar-worksop, student journalists will also have a three-month mentorship program.
It will feature discussions on the urgent need to equip the youth with media and information literacy skills to contribute to the online civil discourse.
Discussions will focus on Campus Journalism in the Legislation and in the Age of Post-Truth, Digital Journalism Ethics, Digital Storytelling, and Social Media Verification.
