BOOK STOP IN INTRAMUROS RETURNS OPERATION

The Book Stop in Intramuros returns its operations on February 17 after being suspended due to Covid19 pandemic restrictions.

Book Stop gives free access, free reading, and free book exchanges. Give a book, get a book. It is very “dynamic,” which means book exchanges are so fast and so frequent that there are new books all the time.

Basic health and safety protocols shall be followed, wear masks, maintain physical distance of at least one meter, observe proper hygiene, do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth, practice respiratory etiquette at all times.

It can refuse entry to those who fail to comply with our basic safety procedures.

Meanwhilebooks can only be exchanged with books. It encourage exchanging quality books so others can also enjoy great stories and discover new ideas and information.

The Book Stop is a pop-up library that encourages reading and a passion for books and promotes the sharing of ideas through the redistribution of books.

In 2016​,​ the Book Stop won two international ​awards for the Philippines: the Architizer Award in New York, where it garnered both the People’s and the Jury’s awards; and a shortlist to the World Architecture Festival in Berlin​, where it was nominated as World Building for the year 2016. In 2018 it was nominated for the Haligi ng Dangal Awards.

It is a property of the Intramuros Administration.
