PUPIANS DECRY PARENT GROUP’S RED-TAGGING AT MAIN CAMPUS RALLY

/ 22 November 2020

SEVERAL students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines decried the red-tagging committed by a group of parents at a protest rally at the school main campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

The group known as League of Parents of the Philippines trooped the gates of PUP on Friday and denounced the alleged recruitment of communist rebels in the school.

“Iskolar ng bayan, magsilbi sa bayan, huwag kay Joma,” the LPP shouted as reported in the official school organ The Catalyst.

The group is also claiming PUP is housing the rebels and are under alliance with exiled National Democratic Front Consultant Jose Maria Sison, also the founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

“…para po sa kaalaman ng lahat, ang eskwelahang ito po ay isa po sa mga lungga ng mga kasamahan ng ha..p na teroristang si [Joma] Sison. Sila po ang nagsisilbing recruiter ng CPP-NPA-NDF,” the group added.

The LPP likewise trooped the University Avenue of the University of the Philippines-Diliman to red-tag the school as a breeding ground for communists.

PUPians were quick to pick up the news and criticized the group’s move ‘to silence dissent’.

“Galit sa mga nagra-rally pero nagra-rally??” one PUPian said.

“T**** HAHAHAHA kadiri mag-isip league of parents pa nga,” another student said.

“Luh, bat nagra-rally mga NPA siguro kayo,” another added.

Unlike UP Diliman which was quick to denounce the group’s move, the PUP administration has yet to make an official statement regarding the matter.
