MORE  than 2,400 high school students in Negros Occidental have been trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as part of the Philippine Red Cross’ (PRC) 2026 National CPR Caravan.

The PRC Negros Occidental Chapter conducted a CPR lecture and demonstration on August 10, 2026, at the Luis Hervias National High School Multipurpose and Volleyball Gyms in Bacolod City.

A total of 2,426 students participated in the activity, where they learned essential lifesaving skills, including proper chest compressions, basic emergency response procedures, and appropriate measures to take during cardiac emergencies.

Five student instructors assisted in the training—two from John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod and three from the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas.

The activity was part of the National CPR Caravan, an initiative aimed at equipping more Filipinos, particularly young people, with basic knowledge and skills to respond quickly and effectively to cardiac emergencies.
