WHERE EVERY CHILD CAN SHINE: INSIDE SUNFLOWER MUSIC STUDIO’S MISSION TO MAKE MUSIC ACCESSIBLE TO ALL
This August, Sunflower Music Studio is opening a new chapter.
With the launch of its newest branch along Malakas Street, Diliman, Quezon City, the specialized music school is bringing its mission of inclusive music education closer to more Filipino families. Designed specifically for neurodivergent learners, the new space reflects the studio’s growing commitment to making music lessons more accessible, personalized, and empowering for every child.
A Vision Rooted in Both Artistry and Advocacy
Founder Gabrielle Rodriguez has built a career that bridges world-class musical training with a passion for inclusive education.
A cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music, Rodriguez established herself through recitals, masterclasses, and award-winning competitions. But in 2023, she pursued a path that would redefine her career, completing her Master’s in Music Education with an Autism Concentration at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Having taught young learners across the United States, Singapore, and the Philippines, Rodriguez developed a globally informed perspective on music education: one that recognizes every learner’s unique strengths and needs.
Those experiences became the foundation of Sunflower Music Studio, a specialized learning space where lessons are designed around the student, allowing each child to grow at their own pace while discovering the joy of making music.
A First Recital, A Lasting Impression
Before opening its newest home in Diliman, Sunflower Music Studio celebrated another landmark moment.
On July 12, the studio held its first-ever recital, bringing together students, families, and teachers in a celebration of growth and perseverance.
For many students, it was their first opportunity to perform before an audience. For parents, it was a moving reminder that every lesson, every practice session, and every small victory had led to a moment worth celebrating.
Reflecting on the recital, the studio shared:
“Watching our students shine on stage was a beautiful reminder that every lesson, every practice session, and every small achievement leads to something truly meaningful.”
The recital showcased more than musical performances. It demonstrated what becomes possible when learners are given the right environment, individualized support, and teachers who believe in their potential.
A New Home in Diliman
Building on the momentum of its successful recital, Sunflower Music Studio officially opens its newest branch this August at Malakas Street, Diliman, Quezon City.
The expansion marks an important step in reaching more families seeking specialized music education for neurodivergent learners. Conveniently located in the heart of Quezon City, the Diliman branch offers individualized music lessons tailored to each learner’s unique abilities, interests, and pace.
Whether a child is attending their very first music lesson or continuing an existing musical journey, the studio provides a nurturing environment where learning is centered on encouragement, creativity, and meaningful progress.
The new Diliman location joins Sunflower Music Studio’s growing network of branches in Ortigas, Mandaluyong, and Batasan Hills, Quezon City, further expanding access to its specialized programs.
To celebrate the opening of the Malakas Street branch, the studio is currently accepting bookings for free trial lessons. Trial slots are limited, giving families an opportunity to experience Sunflower Music Studio’s personalized approach before enrolling.
Why It Matters
Music education is often viewed simply as an extracurricular activity. For many neurodivergent learners, however, it can become something far more meaningful.
Music can help strengthen communication, improve focus, develop motor coordination, build confidence, and create opportunities for self-expression in ways that traditional learning environments may not always provide.
Sunflower Music Studio embraces that philosophy by recognizing that inclusive education is not about lowering expectations, it is about providing the right support for every learner to reach their fullest potential.
With Rodriguez’s combination of international teaching experience, specialized training, and deep commitment to accessibility, the studio continues to redefine what meaningful music education can look like in the Philippines.
