GLOBE SPOTLIGHT DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION WITH AWS AT MWC 2026

Globe Telecom showcased its transformation journey at the  Amazon Web Services (AWS) Booth Builder Studio during Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026, with three senior leaders joining the AWS for Telecom Fireside Chat as guest speakers. The sessions highlighted Globe’s evolution from a traditional telco into a technology‑enabled digital lifestyle partner for Filipinos, powered by its strategic collaboration with AWS.

Driving Strategic Vision and Customer Value

Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz shared his executive vision for Globe’s future, emphasizing the company’s ambition to grow alongside the Philippines’ fast‑rising digital economy. “Our ambition is to make Globe not just a connectivity provider but a trusted digital partner in every Filipino’s daily life,” Cruz said. He underscored how Globe’s adoption of cloud technologies is modernizing infrastructure, strengthening data security, and enabling AI‑driven customer journeys that expand digital inclusion nationwide.

Cruz also highlighted the role of AI as a social equalizer, providing access to education, livelihood, and essential services. “Connectivity today creates equal opportunity. With AWS, we are ensuring that our digital services remain reliable, personalized, and inclusive for every Filipino,” he added.

Accelerating AI Innovation

Executive Vice President, Chief AI Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio discussed Globe’s enterprise‑wide AI acceleration strategy. He introduced the AI Kitchen, Globe’s approach to building a shared AI ecosystem that brings together platforms, tools, and governance to enable scalable and responsible AI adoption across the organization. Supported by AWS enablement programs, Globe has developed AI-powered apps and platforms that drive measurable improvements in customer experience and operational efficiency.

Bonifacio emphasized the importance of ethical AI use, noting Globe’s AI Community of Practice that advances responsible innovation across the organization. “Our goal is to remain agile, building adaptable foundations and refining our approach for lasting value,” he said.

Cloud Modernization for Resiliency and Scale

Senior Advisor, Head of Architecture & Engineering and Customer Experience Creation Ricky Mohan outlined Globe’s cloud modernization journey with AWS. He detailed initiatives to expand Globe’s cloud footprint, strengthen disaster recovery, and modernize business support systems. These efforts enable real‑time operations, targeted campaign management, and enhanced customer experiences across services.

“Cloud enables us to scale faster, innovate faster, and serve customers better. Our transformation is about moving from infrastructure‑heavy operations to platform‑led innovation that delivers real value to customers and enterprises,” Mohan explained.
