GLOBE DEVCON 2025: HARNESSING THE POWER TO CREATE

Globe unites innovators and dreamers to build technology that uplifts lives.

14 October 2025

Globe is rallying its growing community of developers, engineers, and innovators to harness the power to create, as it mounts the third Globe Developers Conference (DevCon), a full-day celebration of technology, creativity, and collaboration happening on October 9 at The Globe Tower.

Building on the success of its previous runs, DevCon 2025 shines the spotlight on AI-powered innovation, empowering developers to reimagine what’s possible in a connected world. The event brings together over 1,000 participants from Globe’s tech and business communities, partner companies, and academic institutions, uniting some of the country’s brightest minds to shape the future of digital innovation.

“Developers are the builders of the future,” said Globe Chief Information Officer Raul Macatangay. “Through DevCon, we create an environment where talent, technology, and purpose converge. We want our people and partners to see that innovation doesn’t just happen in labs, it happens when we come together to solve real problems for real people.”

Now in its third year, Globe DevCon has evolved from a focused, internal showcase into a movement that champions collaboration across the tech ecosystem. This year’s theme, “Harnessing the Power to Create,” underscores the role of human creativity in driving intelligent, AI-powered solutions, reminding participants that the real power of technology lies in how it can improve lives.

Organized by the Information Services Group (ISG), the event features solution showcases, fireside chats, and tech demos that highlight innovations developed within Globe and through portfolio companies, including Asticom, Brave Connective, and Yondu. These efforts reflect Globe’s broader vision of being a digital platform that empowers Filipinos to thrive in a tech-driven future.

Beyond innovation, DevCon also serves as a stage to recognize Globe’s engineering excellence and its growing reputation for world-class technical talent.

Among Globe’s developers is Neil Daryl Sulit, one of only three Kubestronauts in the Philippines, and the only one from Globe.

Kubestronauts are professionals who have successfully completed all of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF)’s Kubernetes certifications, demonstrating mastery across administration, development, security, and cloud-native foundations.

Achieving this level of expertise is exceptionally rare globally. For Globe, it signifies that the company’s in-house talent can architect, deploy, and secure complex cloud-native systems, the same backbone technology that powers global leaders like Google, AWS, and Netflix. It is a testament to how Globe is building not just digital infrastructure, but a generation of engineers capable of running the most advanced systems in the world.

From cloud computing to AI integration and cybersecurity, DevCon 2025 provides an open space for collaboration, mentorship, and discovery where every developer can be part of Globe’s mission to transform bold ideas into impactful solutions.

“We see DevCon not just as a conference, but as a launchpad for possibility,” shared Macatangay. “By creating opportunities for developers to experiment, collaborate, and innovate responsibly, Globe continues to evolve as a technology company, one that builds with purpose.”
