PERPETUAL Help continued its winning ways in Group A of the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament following its victory over winless Lyceum.

The Altas followed up on their win over San Sebastian two days ago with a 73-61 win against the Pirates on Sunday at San Juan Arena.

Mark Gojo Cruz, the Altas’ prized sophomore, bannered the Perps’ trip to a 2-0 start.

“Pinrepare ko lang ‘yong sarili ko at ‘yong mind ko na kahit sophomore ako, kailangan ko na maglead,” said Gojo Cruz after dropping 18 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

“Ang goal ko lang naman talaga ay depensa pero (ngayon) may bonus pang opensa,” he added.

Helping Gojo Cruz pace the Altas to the dub was Jearico Nunez, who finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Lyceum, meanwhile, dropped to 0-2 in the standings. Renz Villegas scored 18 points in the Pirates’ loss.

Up next for the Altas is fellow undefeated squad Mapua (2-0) for Group A supremacy on Wednesday at the same venue.
