PANGASINAN TO OPEN THREE NEW POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE CAMPUSES
THE PROVINCIAL government of Pangasinan is set to expand access to higher education with the opening of three new campuses of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College (PPC) in Bugallon, Umingan, and San Carlos City.
Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino said the programs in the new campuses will be tailored to meet local needs, with variations from those currently offered at PPC Lingayen.
“For example, in San Carlos, the focus is on developing the School of Medicine and Health Sciences programs, so it will be science-centered,” Lambino explained.
He added that programs in Bugallon and Umingan will also be localized to match the economic and developmental priorities of the areas.
“As a polytechnic institution, PPC’s programs emphasize skills-based education and training to prepare students for both professional careers and personal growth,” he said.
Currently, PPC Lingayen offers courses in Public Administration, Multimedia Arts, Special Needs Education, and Agribusiness. Like in Lingayen, students in the three new campuses will also benefit from provincial scholarships.
“Eventually, once we secure institutional recognition, we can qualify under CHED’s university program, allowing students to study without paying tuition and miscellaneous fees,” Lambino added.
Funding for the new campuses will be included in the 2026 budget, with enabling ordinances already submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approval.
