UP ADMIN AND WORKERS INK CNA TO STRENGTHEN EMPLOYEE RIGHTS AND WELFARE
IN A significant step towards improving the working conditions, benefits, and rights of administrative staff, the University of the Philippines and the All-UP Workers Union have signed a Collective Negotiation Agreement.
The agreement was signed on November 14, 2024, by UP President Angelo A. Jimenez and AUPWU National President Jossel I. Ebesate.
According to UP, the agreement covers all non-academic rank-and-file personnel at the university, including permanent, temporary, casual, or contractual employees, with only a few specific exceptions.
“The agreement reinforces the commitment of both parties to enhance working conditions, benefits, and rights for all rank-and-file administrative staff and employees of the University,” UP stated.
“Key provisions include rights and benefits related to merit promotion, security of tenure, employee workload, workers’ education and professional development, gender equality, and health and safety,” the statement added.
