PUP RECEIVES DOST-PCIEERD GRANT TO LAUNCH TBI PYLON HUB
THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines has been awarded a significant grant from the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development.
The funding will support the establishment of the DOST-PUP Technology Business Incubation Pylon Hub, an initiative aimed at nurturing innovation and supporting entrepreneurship at the university.
The announcement was made during the Grand Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement Signing at Sheraton Manila Hotel in Pasay City.
The grant was provided through DOST-PCIEERD’s Higher Education Institution Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship Program.
PUP stated that the program focuses on empowering universities to develop Technology Business Incubation programs, enabling them to support startups, drive economic development, and create an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Through this funding, the university aims to open long-term opportunities for budding entrepreneurs and actively contribute to the country’s innovation landscape.
PCIEERD, a DOST sectoral planning council, is the lead agency responsible for formulating and implementing strategies to drive advancements in industry, energy, and emerging technology. Its S&T programs include support for research and development, technology transfer, commercialization, policy advocacy, and human resource development.
