MORE than 23 million students have enrolled in elementary and high school for the School Year 2024-2025, according to the Department of Education.

The latest DepEd monitoring report shows that 23,340,101 students registered since the enrollment period began on July 3, falling short of the target of 27.72 million enrollees.
Out of the total, 20,406,884 students are in public schools, 2,634,760 are in private schools, and 37,868 are enrolled in state universities and colleges as well as local universities and colleges.
Additionally, 260,589 students are participating in the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
Region IV-A reported the highest number of enrollees at 3,380,170, followed by Region III with 2,470,220, Metro Manila with 2,407,221, and Region VII with 1,766,729.
Despite some areas still dealing with the effects of super typhoon Carina and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), SY 2024–2025 officially started on July 29.
