UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Los Baños offers a new dual doctoral degree program with the University of Montpellier in France after securing the approval of the UP Board of Regents.

UPLB said the Dual PhD by Research program will allow graduates to earn a PhD by Research degree from both UPLB and UM.

It will be implemented through the UPLB Graduate School.

Graduates will be awarded a certificate including a statement indicating the joint administration of the program.

Enrollees of the program can spend periods of their enrollment studying at UPLB or UM, depending on their plan of study.

Both universities will provide resources and faculty members who will collaboratively work with the students during their studies.

“The program aligns UPLB’s expertise in applied research in plant breeding, agronomy, and horticulture with the interdisciplinary research themes of the UM Doctoral School of Biodiversity, Agriculture, Food, Environment, Earth, and Water,” UPLB said.

The university previously established partnerships with the University of Reading and the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom, and Curtin University in Perth, Australia in collaboration with the School of Management of UP Mindanao to implement dual PhD programs.
